Black and Decker 3.0 cu in Portable washer is a game-changer when it comes to apartment style living and efficiency.
A few months ago I bought the Black and Decker 3.0 cu Portable Washer Machine. The reason why I want to review it is because I did not find a lot of information on the washer but instead on the smaller versions of this one. So, I wanted to write a post about my own persona experience.
Benefits:
- Hassle-free laundry- No more trips to the laundry mat or having to use the facilities in your complex.
- Easy hook-up-The washer comes with an attachment for sinks that need the extra accessory.
- Plenty of Space-This washer is capable of washing a queen size comforter (I don’t recommend for a King size)
The Black and Decker Portable Washer Machine is a smaller version of a normal size washer. This washer is 3.0 cu inches so roughly about the size of a kitchen stove but lighter. This washer machine is recommended for those who do larger loads of laundry or for bigger families.
Certain features include:
Load size
The washer was great at washing and wringing out a comforter. Even does great with large loads. I found that my clothes still came out cleaner and dried in a timely manner.
Automatic fill when attached to the sink
Once connected to the sink and the water is turned on, this washer has an automatic fill system. That turns on and off as needed throughout the washing cycle. (Just remember to turn the water off before disconnecting)
Hot and cold options
Note: This option is only available if you are able to connect to the hot and cold water individual. If not then its required to only use cold for single sink attachment.
Efficient at wringing out water
I air dry my clothes and I am amazed at how well this washer does to get as much water out of my clothes as possible. If I wash early in the morning most of my clothes are dry by night time.
Limitations:
- If using one hook up you can only use cold water
- Wheels on washer don’t work as well, its recommend to place on dolly.
Pros:
- Convenient for apartment laundry
- Fits a single queen size comforter
- Great for larger loads
- Has plenty of unique settings for your needs to choose from
- Clothing with drawstrings can get tangled easily when the washer runs the spin cycle.
Cons:
Spin cycle can be slightly loud. (Makes me conscious of whether my neighbors can hear it)
Can only use cold water if hooking up to a sink.
The different size loads determines water level. This portable washer comes with three different size loads
I found when adding what I considered a small load into the washer, it wasn’t enough water on the small setting for my clothes to be fully submerged. I would say this is more of a personal preference. Some small loads may be considered medium.
Size
Prior to purchasing this washer I didn’t really know what 3.0 cu in looked like and I wasn’t expecting it to be big. So I want to provide a visual that the washer is about the size of an average stove. I am able to store it in a coat closet.
Only had one slot for detergent but none for fabric softener
If you use fabric softener, then follow the instructions per the bottle. I always pause the machine and add the fabric softener. Opening the door without pausing gives it an error code.
Finally, I recommend the Black and Decker 3.0 cu Washer for:
Anyone with extra space that doesn’t mind a washer almost the size of a stove.
Large families with bigger loads
Individuals who like to wash their bedding on a regular
Because of it’s large size it may not work well in small RVs or apartments. If you are someone who lives alone you may consider going for the smaller cubic options. There are plenty of Youtube video reviews on the smaller sizes as well.
